Welcome to the Hilversumsche Golf Club

Founded in 1910, the Hilversumsche Golf Club is one of the most distinguished clubs in the Netherlands. It is a ‘links style’ heath land course with a rich history. The current location on the Soestdijkerstraatweg in Hilversum was acquired in 1917. Henry Burrows initially designed a nine holes course and in 1923 the International Dutch Championship was played here for the first time (and won by Henry Burrows himself!). In 1928 the course was expanded to 18 holes using a design of the well known architect, Sir Harry Colt. Sir Guy Campbell made further modifications, most notably to the par fives, in the early 1950s. Recently Kyle Phillips remodeled various holes including a major renewal and redesign of several greens aimed at restoring specific Colt characteristics of the course.
This delightful course, which winds its way through the woods and forest, has played host to 26 Dutch Opens and had the honour of hosting the tournament again in 2012.

Surrounding the course is a vast forested area, home to many woodland birds. Even an owl or two can occasionally be spotted! One also finds a mixture of vegetation such as beech, oak, pine, spruce and birch. In autumn, the heather adds a real touch of colour! Strategically placed bunkers ensure that the course is a real challenge for all level of players. Approach shots to the subtly contoured greens continue to test the golfer and reward accurately placed tee shots. The Hilversumsche Golf Club is regularly featured in Golf World’s top 100 courses. The beautiful surroundings make every visit to the club a pleasure. A superb golfing challenge awaits you here. Difficult, but fair, you will always be rewarded by good play! After an exhilarating round of golf it is a real treat to enter the welcoming clubhouse for a satisfying and delicious meal while enjoying the panoramic view.
